Ginny's Printing Acquires Pro Print

Press release from the issuing company

(AUSTIN, TX)  Ginny's Printing, Austin's largest commercial printing company, is acquiring a large part of the business assets of local commercial printer Pro Print from owners Leigh and Diana Petersen, announced Michael Martin, president and CEO of Ginny's.

The Petersen's, who founded Pro Print in 1989, are retiring. Many of Pro Print's 10 employees will become employees of Ginny's. The transaction will be completed March 23, 2009.

"We have been steadily expanding our capabilities and capacity," said Martin. "This acquisition will add to our customer base and increase our commercial printing workforce."

"When deciding to retire after many years in the Austin printing business, we wanted our customers and our employees to remain in good hands," Leigh Petersen said. "Ginny's presented the perfect opportunity to do that. They offer Pro Print customers access to a much greater selection of services, and despite their much larger size, as a homegrown Austin company they have maintained their personal touch in customer service and enjoy a continued spirit of camaraderie among employees."

According to Martin, Ginny's is the Austin area's most comprehensive provider of printing, copying, mailing and related business services. The company has 16 offset printing presses; one of the nation's largest fleets of Xerox Docutech black & white digital printers; an iGen3 and an iGen4 digital color printer; and other advanced equipment for pre-press, bindery and mailing.

Ginny's was founded in 1971. The company currently employs 200 people and operates an 110,000 square foot administrative and production facility in northeast Austin on Tuscany Lane. Pro Print has been occupying a nearly 20,000 square foot space on Metric Blvd. in north central Austin.
