NORWALK, Conn. -- Eric Armour has been named president of Xerox Corporation’s  Global Business and Strategic Marketing Group. Armour, currently vice president, Corporate Strategy, succeeds Quincy Allen, who is leaving Xerox to pursue an opportunity with another firm.

He joined Xerox in 2007 as the company’s chief strategist, responsible for leading Xerox's strategic management processes and development activities as well as managing Xerox’s relationship with alliance partners and with Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. Prior to joining Xerox, he served as president and general manager of The Gillette Company's BRAUN global business division, headquartered in Germany. He was vice president of planning and integration for Gillette during its merger with Procter & Gamble. From 1990-2003, Armour was with Marakon Associates, an international consulting firm, where he directed multimillion dollar-valued initiatives for clients in consumer products, financial services, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and other industries.

Armour earned his M.B.A. from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. He was a U.S. Navy fighter pilot from 1981-1988 while also holding leadership positions in maintenance and operations.

“Early in his tenure at Xerox, Eric impressed us with his rare mix of disciplined operational processes and creative strategic analysis that reflected both a respect for Xerox’s core strengths and a clear vision for the big opportunities in front of us,” said Wim Appelo, president, Xerox Global Business and Services Group. “In this new role, Eric will help us move these strategic insights into execution, applying his breadth of experience to help us strengthen our industry leadership.”
