Douglas Starts Display Graphics Division with Acuity HD 2504

Press release from the issuing company

Douglas Printing, an Edmonton commercial printer with over a century of history, recently expanded into the world of display graphics and created a new business division – Maximum Imaging. Fujifilm Canada is pleased to announce Maximum Imaging’s first UV flatbed of choice was Fujifilm Acuity HD 2504 for its outstanding output quality.

Ian Burke, President & CEO of the Burke Groups of Companies; Douglas Printing, Douglas XPress, Target Advantage & Maximum Imaging, believes in the “fullness” of their print service offerings. Since Ian purchased Douglas Printing in 2005, he has been expanding into new areas of printing services to fulfill all their customers’ print needs – starting from traditional offset printing, full range of integrated direct marketing services, to wide format display graphic printing.

Max MacMillan, General Manager of Maximum Imaging, strongly believes in offering their clients a diversified product portfolio in today’s competitive print market. Max has years of experience in the area of specialty printing, and was the perfect choice to oversee the new division. Ian and Max’s goal is to ensure that Maximum Imaging is equipped with the latest technology and is a true full service provider. Complementing the Acuity UV flatbed, is HumanEyes, the strongest 3D software for lenticular printing in the market, distributed through Fujifilm. Maximum Imaging also purchased an HP solvent printer, and a Zund digital cutting system. As Ian and Max had envisioned, Maximum Imaging has been securing conventional display graphic services on rigid media and also gaining special job requests for printing on unique substrates, such as glass, ceramic tiles, ceiling tiles, and wood.

Your imagination is their only limitation!
The addition of Maximum Imaging has tremendously increased overall business volume for the Burke Groups of Companies. Both the offset side of business (Douglas Printing) and the display graphic side (Maximum Imaging) are gaining customers from each other, because their customers see the benefits of no longer having to go to multiple printers to fulfill all their marketing needs.

Fujifilm Canada (Graphic Systems) offers seamless end-to-end services, products, and support to its customers in the graphic communications industry. Its wide variety of products ranges from the highest quality consumables including plates, display graphics inks, and pressroom chemistry, leading-edge equipment including CtP systems, digital presses, and display graphics devices, to unparalleled professional services consultation services covering areas from colour management to pressroom audits.

Douglas Printing has grown from a 3-person operation that was started by H.W.B Douglas in 1902 to a 70-dedicated employee full-service commercial printing facility purchased by Ian Burke in 2005. Today, Douglas Printing is a versatile FSC-certified printer which is uniquely positioned to produce all of its clients’ campaign needs from end-to-end ~ offset printing, digital printing with variable imaging, full service mail house and wide format display graphics. In 2008 Ian incorporated the Burke Group of Companies consisting of; Douglas Printing, Douglas XPress, Maximum Imaging and Target Advantage. The Burke Group of Companies provides quality products responsibly, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for our employees while minimizing our impact on the environment in every way we can.
