Screen (USA) to Emphasize Increased Throughput and Streamlined Production at Graphics of the Americas

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Screen (USA), a leading supplier of customer-focused output devices and workflow solutions for the graphic arts industry, announced that it will present a full complement of prepress systems and software at Graphics of the Americas, which returns to the Miami Beach Convention Center on March 2-4. Screen experts, as well as representatives from Screen's distributors in Mexico, Brazil and the Caribbean, will be on hand in the Screen exhibition area (booth #864) to deliver product demonstrations, describe the many advantages made possible by implementing Screen technology and answer attendees' questions. Daily presentations throughout the trade show will showcase the PlateRite 4300 (four-up) and PlateRite 8300 (eight-up) thermal computer-to-plate (CTP) recorders. Screen also will highlight performance-enhancing workflow modules from the Rite Suite, Color Suite and Trueflow Suite software within the JDF-based Trueflownet concept. In addition to the above, Screen will unveil important new technology at Graphics of the Americas. Details will be available on the first day of the trade show. Flexible CTP Solutions PlateRite 4300E and PlateRite 4300S platesetters can accommodate plate sizes from 12 inches x 14.6 inches (304 mm x 370 mm) to 32.7 inches x 26 inches (830 mm x 660 mm). The PlateRite 4300E comes standard with a 16-channel laser diode head that supports image resolutions of 2,400 dpi, 2,438 dpi and 2,540 dpi. The PlateRite 4300E outputs 11 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. The faster PlateRite 4300S has a 32-channel head, supporting resolutions from 1,200 dpi to 4,000 dpi. It images 20 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. The PlateRite 8300E and PlateRite 8300S platesetters support media sizes from 12 inches x 14.6 inches (304 mm x 370 mm) to 45.6 inches x 37 inches (1,160 mm x 940 mm). The PlateRite 8300E's 16-channel head supports resolutions of 2,400 dpi, 2,438 dpi and 2,540 dpi. The PlateRite 8300E outputs eight plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. The PlateRite 8300S has a 32-channel head that supports resolutions from 1,200 dpi to 4,000 dpi and produces 13 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi. Software Suites The three suites of software within the Trueflownet environment improve communication with print buyers, increase automation throughout the production process and enhance overall print quality. * For improved customer relationship management (CRM), there is the Rite Suite, a range of software that helps integrate the creative stage into the print provider's production system. * The Color Suite is a set of tools that helps printers ensure that the highest quality results are achieved. * The Trueflow Suite offers a sophisticated set of tools covering all aspects of prepress automation.
