Genesis Press Installs Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S

ITASCA, Ill. -- In the printing industry, every minute counts. And every minute trimmed from the production process adds up to more jobs that can be completed in a day.

Genesis Press, Inc. in Itasca, Ill., is enjoying substantial time savings with its new six-color Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press featuring Mitsubishi's SimulChanger plate-changing system.

"In terms of makeready automation, the Mitsubishi press with SimulChanger is unbelievable," said Paul Bauman, owner of Genesis Press. "SimulChanger hangs all six plates on the press simultaneously. We are able to makeready the press in eight or nine minutes with very little paper and ink waste."

Forty-inch Mitsubishi presses are the centerpiece of Genesis Press' printing resources. The company currently operates two six-color models with aqueous coaters. Genesis Press has profited greatly from their speed and ease of operation, according to Bauman.

"The presses are very operator friendly and reliable," he said. "They are fast and can always be counted on to produce superior quality."

Established in 1997, Genesis Press is a full-service printer. The company acquired Tarco Printing Inc. in Itasca in 2005. The acquisition more than doubled Genesis Press' annual revenues, from $5 million to $12 million. It also increased the company's manufacturing space, from 27,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet.

A printer of high-end, multicolor work, Genesis Press provides commercial printing, along with bindery, mailing and fulfillment services. In addition, the company offers digital on-demand and variable data printing, web-to-print convenience and website design.

Genesis Press' clients include large pharmaceutical manufacturers. Run lengths average 6,000 sheets.

"We replaced two older presses that had limited automation with the one Mitsubishi press to produce jobs more efficiently," Bauman said. "The improved automation requires less manpower while increasing productivity. That means lower cost to our customers."
