Quality That Counts: The State of Digital Printing, WhatTheyThink Webinar draws large audience

Press release from the issuing company

Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink.com today reported that almost 350 industry professionals registered to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Quality That Counts: The State of Digital Printing, was be led by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Group Director of Production Services for research firm InfoTrends.  The event was held Wednesday, July 29th.

The session archive is available at the webinar archive page.

“The experience of our panelists in this session would indicate that the differences in quality between offset and digital are minimal,” said Pellow, “with output from both technologies being acceptable to most buyers.  This allows increased flexibility in the production process, including projects that are produced in a color managed hybrid offset/digital environment using technologies for even the most color-critical work.  This truly indicates that digital printing has come of age.”

Pellow was joined by:

  • Gary Garner, President & CEO of GLS Companies.  Garner has been President /CEO of GLS Companies since its inception in 1984. Over the past 25 years, GLS Companies has grown from 6 employees and $750,000 in sales to over 300 employees and sales over $50,000,000 from 2 manufacturing plants in the Twin Cities area. Along with overseeing all business operations, Gary is active in several industry associations, including PIM, PIA, and MDMA.
  • Wayne Moda, President & Partner, NuGraphics, Etc., Inc.  Moda entered the printing industry through founding a print brokerage in 1995. From that point, he began looking into other innovative areas of the printing industry, realizing that he not only had a knack for print production and manufacturing, but also that embracing the latest and more unique print production technologies offered the benefit of fewer competitors and higher profits. Today, Moda continues to embrace new and/or unique print production capabilities to drive revenues and better respond to customer needs.

“Our panelists were very generous in sharing their thoughts, insights and processes as related to delivering the highest quality of digital, offset and hybrid printing,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “We appreciate the fact that HP sponsored this important session, allowing us to make it available at no charge.”
