58k.com to Share RFQs Directly with printCafe Customers

Press release from the issuing company

GRAPH EXPO -- CHICAGO, IL 58k.com(tm) and printCafe(tm) today announced the establishment of an information exchange that will channel print job requests for quotes (RFQs) directly from 58k.com to printCafe's e-commerce customers who have elected to be part of the open exchange. 58k.com is the centralized auction market that uses standardized, electronic bid forms to bring the country's 58,000 printers together with millions of commercial print buyers. printCafe offers a comprehensive suite of business management software solutions that allow both the buyer and supplier sides of the print and publishing industry to manage the entire print process from job spec through delivery. These software products and services can be integrated with ecommerce functionality via custom-branded Web sites developed and hosted by printCafe for their customers. "We've looked over all of the print solutions models, and printCafe's back-end ability is very compelling," said David Robb, 58k.com's Marketing Director. "Printers are clearly headed towards a more integrated work flow, and this relationship leverages both of our strengths to deliver printers and print buyers greater value." The integration of these two components of the print e-procurement process will be enabled by printCafe PCX(tm), a framework that ensures job ticketing and process compatibility across a range of authoring, production workflow, and e-commerce-based print management systems. Using printCafe's Print Management System software, these printers can create an estimate directly from the 58k.com RFQ and submit a quote directly from their custom-branded Web sites to 58k.com, utilizing the PCX framework. "Our intention is to allow printCafe printers to selectively choose whether they want to receive an RFQ from 58k.com," said Doug Belkofer, Director of Integration at printCafe. "This agreement opens up a new channel for our ecommerce customers that will send them new business and allow them to respond very quickly and efficiently. This is an exciting announcement for printCafe -- it enables printCafe users to interact more easily with 58k.com, and it demonstrates the first working example of integration according to the printCafe PCX framework for integration," said Belkofer.
