Acton, US -- Global Graphics  today announced that is has signed an agreement with Conexant Systems, Inc. to jointly develop and market a new generation of office printer controller solutions. Global Graphics is a leading developer of software used in printing and electronic document solutions. Conexant is a leading supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, video, and Internet connectivity applications. The new solutions will integrate Global Graphics' Harlequin PLUS Embedded software and Conexant's imaging system-on-chip (SoC) technology to provide high-performance, low-cost monochrome and color printer controllers for single- and multi-function printers. Evaluation systems of the first jointly developed solution are available now.

Gary Fry, Global Graphics' chief executive officer said, "This is a strategic joint development initiative for Global Graphics. We plan to build upon the strengths and expertise of each company to deliver leading, low cost, high-performance solutions to printer/MFP manufacturers. Our new embedded software supports PCL, PostScript, PDF and XPS, which, when combined with Conexant's imaging SoC technology, results in a world-class solution in terms of performance, quality, and cost."

René Hartner, vice president of marketing for Conexant's Imaging and PC Media business added, "We chose Global Graphics as a partner because of their expertise in Page Description Language and industry-proven technology. Our joint development and marketing effort with Global Graphics allows us to further strengthen our market-leading imaging product portfolio, and is consistent with our strategy to deliver even greater value to printer companies worldwide."
