Andy Tribute Named Visiting Professor at The University of the Arts London

2/16/07 -- The University of the Arts London, on the advice of its Professorial Committee, has conferred the title of Visiting Professor on Andrew Tribute in recognition of distinction in his field of practice. While this award is a personal distinction and is not attached to holding any particular post within the University, it is anticipated Mr. Tribute will be involved in both the academic and promotion work of the London College of Communication, one of the Colleges with the University of the Arts London. The University, which defines itself as a Creative Constellation, is the largest creative university in Europe comprising Camberwell College of Arts; Central St Martins College of Art and Design; Chelsea College of Art and Design; London College of Communication; London College of Fashion; and Wimbledon College of Art. The London College of Communication also has an affiliation with the Heidelberg Print Media Academy. Andrew Tribute is one of the world’s acknowledged authorities on the computerization of the media, publishing and printing industries, having worked in this area for over 40 years following graduating from the London College of Printing (now the London College of Communications) in 1964. He is Managing Partner of the consultancy practice, Attributes Associates. This organization has been at the forefront of changes in the printing and publishing industry for over 20 years. This has included the introduction of technologies including desktop publishing, digital printing, computer to plate imaging, and the use of the Internet in printing and publishing. It has also been involved in the changes in the practices of the newspaper industry in the switch to single keyboarding of editorial and advertising operations, and the moving of magazine publishing colour repro from external services to inhouse operations. Attributes Associates advises many of the leading suppliers to the industry on technologies and marketing strategies. In addition to his consulting operations Mr. Tribute also writes for many of the leading printing industry trade publications around the world, as well as being published online in a weekly column at WhatTheyThink.com . He is also a very regular speaker at conferences around the world.
