C.P. Bourg to Feature Finishing Efficiency at PRINT 09

Press release from the issuing company

New Bedford, MA -- At PRINT 09, C.P. Bourg, the world’s leading technology developer and supplier of in-line and near-line document feeding, binding and finishing equipment, will showcase a range of innovative products that address the burgeoning markets for on-demand and short-run binding and finishing – including “books of one” – while providing unmatched return on investment (ROI).

In booth #3400 the company will use its 3,200-square-foot exhibit space featuring products designed to improve operational efficiencies and deliver exceptional ROI to commercial printers, in-plant graphics providers and trade binderies and finishers. The quadrennial PRINT exhibition is scheduled to take charge of McCormick Place in Chicago, September 11-16, drawing more than 650 exhibitors and tens of thousands of attendees.

“With the market for short-run, on-demand finishing soaring alongside resilient mixed-workflows, process efficiency and equipment ROI are key requirements of productive finishing practices today,” said Richard Trapilo, Executive Vice President and General Manager, C.P. Bourg. “All the products C.P. Bourg will be showing at PRINT 09 are high-quality, innovative, efficient production tools designed to help users in traditional, digital and mixed workflow environments turn print on paper into quality finished products faster and better than ever before.”

Among its products for near-line finishing, C.P. Bourg will demonstrate the highly automated new Bourg BSF sheet feeder, connected for the first time to its award-winning Bourg BME stitch/fold/trim booklet maker. The BSF and BME are capable of handling 14.33 x 22.5 inch output – the largest sheet size currently produced by digital printers. Designed for digital or mixed workflows, each finishing solution maintains set integrity while gently handling digitally-printed coated stocks at high throughput speeds.

C.P. Bourg also will showcase its BB3002 PUR perfect binder paired with a Challenge CMT Trimmer demonstrating fast, economical production of high-quality, digitally printed “books of one” on demand. The compact, single-clamp Bourg BB3002 PUR automatically measures book length and block thickness, calculates the centerline of the cover to fasten the spine and meters the precise amount of PUR adhesive to bind books of the same cover dimension and different thickness one after another automatically without operator intervention.  In addition, C.P. Bourg will feature the high-speed Ibis Smart Binder, which features both in-line stitching and unique, mail-friendly cold-set gluing.
