Press release from the issuing company

BYRON, Minn., June 11 --  Schmidt announced today that they have acquired the cooperative direct mail line of business from Solar Communications, Inc. in Naperville, Illinois. The purchase of the collating assets further solidifies Schmidt as the largest producer of card decks in the world. The addition of Solar Communication's paper outer-wrap technology enables Schmidt to capitalize on the strengths of both organizations.

"This is a significant acquisition for Schmidt and brings new opportunities to our customers and the card pack market. Solar Communications was the pioneer of the card pack industry, and we are excited to combine their innovations with our state-of-the-art production system to provide new options for our customers," said Joe Ferguson, Schmidt's President. Schmidt's Director of Sales and Marketing, Jeff Winter, added, "This investment further demonstrates our commitment to cooperative direct mail as a cost-effective, targeted and measurable marketing tool. We are excited to leverage our expanded capabilities to provide the growing business-to-consumer market segment with new and unique marketing opportunities."
