Standard to Host NPES Event

Press release from the issuing company

Andover, MA - NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies will bring to the Boston area-and Standard Finishing Systems-the fourth and final program of its 2009 Regional Meeting series on Friday, June 26.  Aptly themed "On the Road to Recovery," this relevant and interactive program will deliver the most up-to-date economic and print industry trend information available to help attendees combat the current recession and best position their businesses for the impending upturn.

The event at Standard Finishing Systems, which caps off the 2009 series held in four locations over a two-week period, will include a VIP tour of Standard Finishing Systems' recently renovated and expanded Customer Demonstration and Training Center.  The facility has been designed as a place for print professionals to meet with Standard's technical application specialists to work through their most challenging post-press requirements in a live production setting.

The half-day informational and business networking program, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will kick-off with timely presentations by two of the industry's most knowledgeable and respected speakers. Industry economic 'guru' Dr. Joe Webb will reveal the current dynamics of the economy and the printing industry, and discuss the new market for communications that print will encounter in the next five years and beyond.  Print technologies expert Frank Romano will provide powerful information on the latest trends in printing technology, print buying, company sizing, emerging technologies and more. These update segments will be followed by a provocative and interactive "Battle of the Titans" discussion among the two speakers-and attendees-to be moderated by NPES President Ralph Nappi.

"Given the recession, it's more important than ever for graphic communications executives to stay on top of the latest industry findings and trends. We have, therefore, tailored this year's program to offer exactly the industry-specific economic, technology and trends information most relevant to helping companies move beyond their current business situations," says Ralph Nappi, NPES President. "Our Regional Meetings offer a convenient way for member companies and other interested parties to gain such knowledge, share ideas and network with colleagues-without having to travel far from their own offices."

"Standard is pleased to host this event at our new facilities," said David Reny, Executive Vice President, Standard Finishing Systems.  "This forum will help printers and industry suppliers stay well-informed about the shifting print landscape.  It also opens-up constructive dialogue on how all industry players need to adapt to stay competitive and profitable."

Finally, keeping the economy in mind, NPES is offering a "Stimulus Special" registration fee this year of 50% off the 2008 fee. Thus registration will cost $75 for NPES members ($50 for each additional attendee) and $195 for non-members ($150 for each additional attendee).

Standard Finishing Systems is located just 22 miles north of Logan International Airport in Boston and 37 miles south of Manchester International Airport in New Hampshire.
