manroland to host NPES "On the Road to Recovery"

Press release from the issuing company

Registration is now taking place for the NPES Regional Meeting in the Chicago area, to be held at manroland Inc. on Monday, June 15.  The day-long "On the Road to Recovery" program promises to deliver the most up-to-date economic and trend information available.  It will feature three sessions geared to help print management with ways to combat the current recession.

The event at manroland is the second of four stops over a two week period, but it is unique.  A one hour VIP tour concludes the program as guests watch manroland's ROLAND 700 DirectDrive and ROLAND 900 XXL presses in operation.             Registration and a Continental breakfast at 8:30 precede the 9 a.m. program.

Dr. Joe Webb, Director of the whattheythink.com Economics and Research Center, will discuss Opportunities and Challenges as part of the "Forces Shaping the Post-Recession Printing Industry" agenda.  He will be followed by Frank Romano, who will examine Industry and Technology Trends.  NPES President Ralph Nappi will moderate an interactive "Battle of the Titans" discussion between Webb and Ro-mano.  After lunch, the VIP tour of manroland's Print Technology Center will conclude the program at 2 pm.

"We are looking forward to hosting this very significant event," said Vince Lapinski, manroland Inc. CEO.  "Our industry is currently dealing with economic changes that most of us have never encountered before.  Every printer in the Midwest can gain valuable insight at this meeting with Dr. Joe Webb and Frank Romano discussing the economy and the new communications market. The manroland technology fits well with this message of flexibility and performance."

manroland is located in suburban Westmont and easily accessible from O'Hare   International Airport, Midway Airport and area expressways.  For more information on registration, visit www.npes.org or contact Curt Alt at (703) 264-7200.
