Tom Wetjen Joins Graphic Communications World

Press release from the issuing company

HOUSTON, Texas -- OutputLinks, the print and document industry's premier, multi-media news and resource publisher, named leading industry veteran Tom Wetjen the president of its Graphic Communications World (GCW) division. Wetjen was also appointed publisher for all GCW publications, including "The Greensheet," the twice-monthly Kiplinger-style news summary of the print industry. Wetjen retired as vice president of Xerox's Worldwide Graphic Arts Industry Business in December 2008, and has been working on various special assignments with OutputLinks since that date.

"We are more than honored to have Tom join us," said Andy and Julie Plata, owners of OutputLinks. "Tom's global reputation, graphic arts expertise and senior management skills are exactly what we have been searching for as we prepared GCW to become the most powerful information resource serving senior managers and owners in the worldwide printing industry."

In his new role as president, Wetjen will re-invent the GCW brand by creating new and forward-thinking programs and services to meet the needs of today's global industry. As publisher, Wetjen will insure the continuity of "The Greensheet's" long-standing tradition of news excellence and industry analysis.

Wetjen said, "After spending more than three decades with Xerox, this is an exciting change for me. While at Xerox, I brought valuable business programs and solutions to an evolving marketplace, and now I look forward to bringing that same level of imagination and vision to the powerful GCW services for printers and suppliers focused on all aspects of graphic communications."

Wetjen began his career at Xerox in 1971, when he joined the company as a sales representative in New Jersey. Later, as vice president of Xerox's Worldwide Graphic Arts Industry Business, Wetjen managed a business that provided some of the graphic arts industry's most formidable solutions, built around such leading products as the DocuColor iGen4 Digital Production Press and the DocuTech Publisher Series. In addition, he participated on numerous industry-related boards, including: Trafford Publishing; National Association for Printing Leadership; the Association for Suppliers of Printing Publishing and Converting Technologies; Printing Industries of America affiliates; and the Digital Imaging Customer Exchange. He also served on the Curriculum Advisory Board of the Silberman Executive MBA Program in Graphic Communications Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and on the Graphic Communications Advisory Council Of Kean University. In 2006, Wetjen was inducted into the National Association for Printing Leadership's Walter E. Soderstrom Society.
