Specialty Print Communications discuss Inline vs. Offline finishing

Press release from the issuing company

Niles, IL -- Specialty Print Communications President Adam LeFebvre and Vice President of Manufacturing John Gaspari presented two sides of a discussion in printing as they faced-off to discuss the pros and cons of both postpress and inline finishing technologies. Speaking to a group of industry professionals on May 5 at the Web Offset Association and Printing Industries of America’s Conference, Offset & Beyond 2009, they explored the dual nature and best practices associated with both formats.

“Inline finishing dominates the United Sates market, but there is a tremendous case to be built for offline,” said LeFebvre. “Paradigm might be what is preventing the emergence of offline as a partner to inline finishing. By bringing these issues to light, we explore the possibilities of that shift and what it could potentially mean in terms of direction or growth for the industry.”

Print providers are taking a closer look at ways to address the increasingly complex demands of specialized, value-added products. SPC’s presentation showcased finishing technology options that enhance offline and inline capabilities, increasing sales opportunities.  Exploring the complexities and nuances of both formats, LeFebvre and Gaspari highlighted their own experience and offered insight and direction about the print industry’s future. The event was held May 4-6, 2009 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada.
