EFI launches high performance Fiery Server for new Xerox DocuColor

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago – EFI, a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today began shipping the high performance Fiery print server for Xerox Corporation's DocuColor 7002/8002 Digital Presses to meet the stringent requirements of high-volume production printing environments where superior image quality, accurate and consistent color and maximum productivity are essential. The EX Print Server powered by Fiery together with the DocuColor 7002/8002 are ideal for producing promotional materials, collateral, direct marketing and photo publishing applications. The Fiery server has advanced, integrated color management tools, built-in productivity enhancing features, and seamless workflow integration.

The DocuColor 7002/8002 includes an In-Line Spectrophotometer (ILS) that supports the Automated Color Quality Suite which seamlessly integrates with the Fiery server, saving operators time by integrating calibration and custom profile creation workflows into one straightforward interface to ensure color is accurate and consistent. The Fiery server utilizes the powerful, award-winning Fiery Color Profiler Suite (CPS) for custom profile creation with the ILS, and adds a complete color management solution to the print shop. Other time-saving features are the Fiery server's automatic spot color and tint generation abilities, which maintain all spot colors whenever a new profile is created, ensuring corporate colors are always accurately printed by operators of all skill levels.

"Our high-performing Fiery server paired with the newest DocuColor presses ensure production print providers in the most demanding environments can exceed their customers' expectations," said John Henze, vice president of marketing, Fiery division, EFI. "This launch continues a long tradition of Fiery-driven DocuColor presses, and like its predecessors, will deliver the exceptional color and image quality, unsurpassed speed, powerful VDP capabilities and 24/7 reliability print providers have relied on for years."
The EX Print Server includes the new Fiery Command WorkStation 5 (CWS5) software, the recognized industry standard for production printing job management technology that serves as the window into the entire printing workflow. CWS5 unleashes the features of Fiery servers by centralizing job management via an intuitive, flexible interface that produces jobs faster, dramatically reduces operator error, decreases waste, and helps increase the overall profitability for the production printer.

With the new Fiery SeeQuence Suite of make-ready tools, it is easy for Xerox customers to handle higher profit, complicated jobs that require document imposition and composition. The suite simplifies and automates labor intensive document preparation activities via an intuitive interface. Fiery SeeQuence Impose and Fiery SeeQuence Compose work independently or in a tightly integrated workflow through CWS5, allowing operators of different skill levels to accurately set-up jobs and soft-proof.

The Fiery open platform conforms to industry standards and integrates seamlessly into the Xerox FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection, enabling integration into pre-press and production processes and offering additional workflow automation tools to gain maximum productivity. Also, print providers with an EFI VUTEk superwide printer, EFI Rastek wide-format printer, EFI Print MIS or EFI proofing solution can take advantage of the integration between multiple EFI and Xerox technologies to optimize job management and production workflow.
