Monday, September 14, 2009

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, IL., USA – At Print '09, commercial printers responsible for the printing of corporate brochures, annual reports, POP displays, packaging and other printed materials that require exact specifications for global brand colors, will be introduced to SmartColour Global Shade Library (GSL), Sun Chemical's database of more than 100,000 ink formulations of real colors for the print marketplace.

SmartColour was first introduced to the prepress and design markets to allow brand owners and designers the ability to predict how their brand spot colors will reproduce on a wide variety of print processes and substrates. Now with SmartColour GSL, commercial printers will have access to Sun Chemical's database of colors to increase both their consistency and accuracy of ink color matches.

"The availability of the SmartColour GSL is an important addition to connecting commercial printers to the spot color accuracy brand owners demand," said Iain Pike, Color Management Business Leader, Sun Chemical. "The extension of the SmartColour database of colors to ink formulation platforms, allows everyone involved in the preparation to obtain the same target colors."

The extensive SmartColour database is integrated into the technical color platforms including Sun Chemical sites globally and also in partnership with industry leaders such as EskoArtwork, the global market leader in for pre-production and collaboration software for packaging buyers, designers and manufacturers.

Representatives from Sun Chemical will be on hand at Sun Chemical's booth #3417 and the Pitman Company's booth #4446 to discuss the new SmartColour Global Shade Library throughout Print '09. The Pitman Company carries Sun Chemical's full line of commercial inks, and jointly with Sun Chemical, provides customers with technical and product support.
