Press release from the issuing company

Ramsey, N.J. and Foster City, Calif. -- Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, and EFI , the world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, have launched the Fiery IC-305 v2.0 with customized color profiles for the newly available bizhub PRO C65hc from Konica Minolta allowing production printers to support both traditional and new sRGB workflows.

The bizhub PRO C65hc<http://kmbs.konicaminolta.us/content/products/models/bizhubPROC65hc.html> ("hc" stands for High Chroma) incorporates innovative new toner technology enabling customers to expand their color printing palette beyond the typical four-color devices in the marketplace, expanding their capabilities and helping to differentiate their business with clients.  The print production system creates brighter, more accurate color by reproducing a larger portion of the sRGB color gamut than previously possible.

EFI utilized its award-winning Color Profiler Suite technology to develop a set of color profiles specific to the HC toner.  Fiery technology allows the bizhub PRO C65hc to be more flexible, supporting the use of traditional as well as new sRGB workflows, giving customers the ability to quickly and precisely produce a wider variety of customer jobs. Fiery support of the new sRGB workflow also enables the production printer to more faithfully reproduce colors on screen. This leads to increased accuracy with soft proofing, faster turnaround of jobs, and less waste.

"The bizhub PRO C65hc with its new High Chroma toner technology better meets the demanding color needs of our customers, particularly graphics professionals and commercial printers that require higher quality output," said Kevin Kern, vice president, marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc.  "Acting as the system's color and workflow controller, Fiery plays a critical role in developing a solution that meets such strict requirements."

"Fiery is synonymous with high-quality, accurate color, and with this launch Fiery further solidifies its leadership position," said John Henze, vice president of marketing, Fiery division, EFI.  "Print providers can now produce exceptional quality, eye-catching graphics in a wider spectrum of colors, using the same intuitive Fiery tools they are already familiar with, to broaden their menu of high profit service capabilities."

The Fiery custom profiles will ship standard with the bizhub PRO C65hc, ensuring graphics professionals and print service providers can take advantage of this extended range of color gamut knowing their colors will continue to be delivered accurately and consistently.

In addition to the custom color profiles, the IC-305 v2.0 features workflow innovation and professional tools, including the fastest, most open VDP solution and a unique visual workflow that optimizes productivity by providing job progress at-a-glance. This solution assists in lowering costs associated with production on every job while increasing the ability to handle more complex, highly profitable types of work, an essential ingredient to succeed in a demanding business environment.

The Fiery IC-305 and other EFI solutions designed for Konica Minolta customers are available now through Konica Minolta's North American direct sales, authorized dealer and value-added reseller channels.  More information regarding Konica Minolta's award-winning lines of equipment and software solutions are available at www.CountOnKonicaMinolta.com<http://www.countonkonicaminolta.com/>.  More information regarding EFI is available at www.efi.com<UrlBlockedError.aspx> and 800.875.7117.
