Tabs Direct announces FSC and SFI certifications

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS, Texas -- Tabs Direct demonstrates its commitment to the environment by earning dual Chain of Custody certifications.  Tabs Direct has been granted a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody Certification and a Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) by the third party auditing body, Bureau Veritas Certification North America, Inc.

The formal process of the FSC Chain of Custody Certification requires Tabs Direct to follow specific procedures and protocol to ensure that FSC-Certified paper purchased and used is tracked and remains within the established "chain" from tree harvesting to the finished product.

The SFI standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value.

"We are pleased to have earned these two prestigious certifications.  Tabs Direct has been and continues to be focused on minimizing our impact on the environment. Tabs Direct will continue to evaluate our activities to identify new opportunities to reduce our consumption of raw materials, streamline manufacturing to maximize energy efficiency and increase our comprehensive recycling efforts," said Jim Badum, President, Tabs Direct.

In addition to becoming certified and recognized as a company which supports sustainable forestry management, Tabs Direct's 2008 recycling program yielded an equivalent  savings of 19,887,000 gallons of water; more than 48,000 trees; more than a million gallons of oil; nearly 12 million kilowatts of electricity and 9,375 cubic yards of landfill.

Tabs Direct is committed to sound environmental processes as an integral part of Delivering Excellence Daily for their clients.
