Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO & TORONTO -- R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year, multi-million dollar Print Management agreement with Air Canada. The agreement extends the existing relationship between the two companies and encompasses a wide range of printed products and services. This agreement includes the management, production, warehousing, fulfillment and distribution of printed documents and related services as well as the provision of RR Donnelley's industry leading, Internet-enabled CustomPoint e-commerce system.

Geoffrey Arscott, Director of Strategic Purchasing at Air Canada said, "We extended our relationship with RR Donnelley based on their exceptional customer service, excellent product quality and success in significantly driving down Air Canada's print-related costs over the past three years. Working with RR Donnelley has supported Air Canada's implementation of innovative solutions that help simplify our customers' check-in process, such as our recently introduced self-serve baggage tag kiosks. We are very pleased with our relationship, with RR Donnelley's overall capabilities, and particularly with their commitment to environmental responsibility. Their proven abilities have given us the confidence to entrust them with our work for many years to come."

RR Donnelley worked closely with Air Canada's Airports Group and IT team to design, test and implement a new baggage tag that could be generated at self-serve kiosks and applied directly by the airline's customers, simplifying the check-in process. Air Canada is one of the first carriers in the world to develop and deploy self-serve baggage tags. RR Donnelley also assisted Air Canada in implementing specialized Boarding Passes and has helped Air Canada minimize impacts on the environment by reducing overall print consumption and waste.

Allen Hallis, President of RR Donnelley Canada, stated, "We are very pleased to have earned the continuing trust of Air Canada and to be extending our long-term strategic relationship. As a leading supplier to the airline industry, we are confident that our expertise and unique solutions will contribute great value to Air Canada's innovative business model, which is centered on using new technologies to simplify the travel experience. Our extensive range of products, services and solutions enables customers like Air Canada to streamline their print procurement processes by fulfilling all of their print-related needs from a single source. Additionally, the ability to provide uniform local, regional and national print and distribution services benefits customers that operate from multiple locations in Canada, and around the world. We are delighted to have been awarded this extension and look forward to working with Air Canada for many more years."
