RR Donnelley buys Canadian printing plant

CHICAGO & TORONTO---Dec. 11, 2008--R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with RSM Richter Inc., acting as the Court-appointed Receiver, to purchase substantially all equipment assets of the Grafikom MIL facility, a well-known producer of high quality marketing and financial printing located in Toronto. Under the terms of the agreement, RR Donnelley will also purchase selected printing equipment from Grafikom elsewhere in Canada which will be used to enhance its existing printing platform in Western Canada. The acquisition agreement is subject to customary court approval and is anticipated to close within 2 weeks.

According to Allen Hallis, President of RR Donnelley Canada, "The acquisition and re-launch of the MIL printing facility in Toronto will complement our existing manufacturing platform, enabling us to provide significant added value to our customers and other organizations that have historically been serviced by the MIL operation. Additional printing assets from other Grafikom plants will augment our capacity and capabilities in our Western Canadian manufacturing platform. We will be even better positioned to provide coast-to-coast print management services and to be our customers' first choice for comprehensive print communications."
