Rochester Binding & Finishing Adds Media Duplication to Its Repertoire

Press release from the issuing company

December 8, 2008 - Rochester, NY – With the formation of layerONE media, Inc., Rochester Binding & Finishing, Inc., a trade bindery in upstate New York, now offers duplication of media (CDs, DVDs) to its customers across the Northeast. This new branch of the RBF family tree will operate from a facility in Rochester, NY, near the current RBF plant.

"We've recently become aware of a growing demand for duplication of audio CDs, data CD-ROMs, and DVDs," RBF CEO Rudy Warren said. "Our customers produce an array of manuals, marketing collaterals, and retail products that frequently incorporate CDs or DVDs as part of the package. For that reason, we see this new venture complementing our existing business in a way that will serve the marketplace and leverage our growth."

layerONE media employs 10 people and provides both duplication and replication to address JIT / on-demand service, as well as longer production runs. By leveraging RBF's finishing and mailing capabilities, the two firms plan to offer complete packaging and distribution solutions for customers, as well. Among its current customer base are computer training firms, colleges, and firms in the entertainment industry.

Warren will serve as president of the new firm, with Jeff Favalo functioning as Operations Manager. Although layerONE will function as a separate entity, inquiries about the firm's services may be directed to sales and estimating contacts at Rochester Binding & Finishing ([email protected]).

Rochester Binding & Finishing is a 50 year-old company that employs over 40 people at its single plant in Rochester (NY) and offers die-cutting, mechanical binding, and other specialty finishing services to commercial printers and marketing firms in upstate New York, New England, and Pennsylvania. The firm also offers direct mail services to its customers in conjunction with bindery and finishing services.

Warren, who has owned RBF for the past 10 years, went on to say, "More and more we are being asked to provide end-to-end solutions to our customers and their customers. This new business, functioning in concert with our existing operations moves us further in that direction as we seek to address the evolving needs of our customer base."
