GMC Software defines framework for the unified customer communications platform at Print 09

Press release from the issuing company

Boston, Massachusetts and Appenzell, Switzerland – GMC Software Technology, the standard in personalized communication, defined the framework for the unified customer communications platform at a press conference held on Monday, September 14 at Print 09. In addition, the company launched three new products that facilitate personalized, multi-channel communications.

Building the Unified Customer Communications Experience
While printed communications still plays a strong role in a customer communications strategy, marketers have found that a multi-channel or cross-media approach delivers better results than just print or electronic mediums alone. To support this trend, GMC Software Technology has developed solutions within a framework for a centralized customer communications platform that allows companies to streamline communications, leverage their investments in CRM and prospect databases, control messaging and brand while saving money. The framework for a unified customer communications platform includes tools for data management and document design; managing media and metrics; web portal development for collaboration and interactive customer communications; managing multimedia production as well as service and training.

As the newest additions to the company's product line, GMC PrintNet Designer 6.0, PortalBuilder and Open Document Publisher, along with other GMC software products, provides both enterprise users and print service providers with a single source for an end-to-end solution that facilities and streamlines multi-channel customer communications most often found through disparate products coming from multiple vendors.

GMC PrintNet Designer 6.0 enables the rapid creation, management and production of complex personalized documents for TransPromo, direct marketing, on-demand publishing, customer correspondence and transactional applications. PrintNet Designer 6.0 also contains a number of new enhancements and features that improve and extend the product's functionality in the areas of color management and the repurposing of legacy print streams as well as improvements in proofing and pre-flight.

GMC PortalBuilder simplifies the process and opens the door for organizations to implement efficient, web-enabled storefronts for the creation, ordering, management and printing of personalized variable data documents and integrated, personalized multi-channel campaigns. As a result, enterprises gain more flexibility and faster results by having easier access to all the variable components they need and users can enjoy centralized brand management and messaging as well as cost control with decentralized creation, order entry and output.

GMC Open Document Publisher is a server-side application that turns output management into a productivity generator and accommodates the expanding range of applications, unpredictable volume fluctuations, reporting demands and fluid delivery requirements for both print service providers and enterprise in-plants. In addition, Open Document Publisher collects, sorts, merges and dispatches variable data documents according to business rules. Using standards-based workflow automation, users achieve cost reduction, process optimization and operational efficiency for all their document applications.
