Mitsubishi Diamond Color Navigator named 'Must See 'em' at Print '09

Press release from the issuing company

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Coming on the heels of earning the 2009 InterTech Technology Award, Mitsubishi's Diamond Color Navigator joined the august ranks of the best-in-show technologies at Print '09. The revolutionary system for simplified, automated color adjustments was among the Must See 'ems announced at the Executive Outlook conference held September 10 in conjunction with the year's premier graphic arts industry trade show.

The annual Must See 'ems program, sponsored by PrintCom Consulting Group, is intended as a guide for exhibition attendees who want to discover the "critical core technologies" -- those products and services that are most promising and useful.

"Mitsubishi is committed to introducing technologies that put printers on the road to profits in the evolving printing business," said Marke Baker, president of Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses. "Diamond Color Navigator is an important development in digital processes for today's print production operations."

Diamond Color Navigator automates color corrections and basic press functions in ways not previously possible. Press operators employ a touch screen color wheel to fine-tune colors on press without having to make complicated and repeated ink key moves manually for each printing unit. Operators also can control registration, rotation speeds for the ink and water rollers and ink ductor on/off function, eliminating the need to perform these functions at the remote console.

Compared with conventional color matching, Diamond Color Navigator cuts color adjustment time in half and reduces overall makeready times. Printing companies that have adopted Diamond Color Navigator report a significant reduction in the skill level and training needed for new press operators to achieve precise color adjustments every time.

This year, an international panel of 21 leading industry consultants, analysts, educators and trade magazine editors made the Must See 'ems selections.

At Print '09, Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses is demonstrating Diamond Color Navigator connected to a six-color Diamond V3000LX wide stock range press in booth #1146 at Chicago's McCormick Place.
