BBH launches 26K turbo inserter

Wheeling, Ill. – BÖWE BELL + HOWELL (BBH), a leading provider of high-performance document management solutions and services, has announced an increase in the maximum speed of its flagship Turbo inserter to 26,000 envelopes per hour. The faster speed adds to already high operating efficiencies and ease of operation, delivering unmatched production capacity.

The new Turbo26 will be highlighted at PRINT 09 in BBH booth #7735.

The vertical material transport design featured in the Turbo26 is a superior methodology for high-speed processing and enables the Turbo26 to maintain the highest level of efficiencies, even at up to 26,000 envelopes/hour for #10 envelopes and up to 23,000 envelopes/hour for 6" x 9".

"At these speeds, one second of run time yields seven finished envelopes, so every second counts," said Walsh. "Mailers can achieve the highest level of production and consistent processing through the Turbo26's superior material-handling technology."

Not only can mailers produce more with the higher inserting speed, high-page-count applications can be more productive with the new 80,000-sheet-per-hour maximum, two-up, continuous-form input, providing one of the highest production levels available in the industry. The 80K input enables higher utilization of the Turbo's 26,000-envelope-per-hour inserting cycling speed while maintaining the two-up merging, accumulation and folding flexibility that avoids the need for downstream rotating modules for reorientation of the finished set prior to inserting.

Adding to its already quick changeover capability with the BIPS (BÖWE Intelligent Productivity System) automated setup, the latest Turbo now offers a new, automated push-button setup insert feeder. Employing state-of-the-art material-handling technology, the Turbo self-measures and adjusts for virtually any size inserts, ensuring accurate setup and swift changeover.
 
Demonstrating its industry-leading vision technology, the VEKtor? camera system is completely integrated both mechanically and electronically through the BICOS operating system, providing centralized "no-touch" reading setup and control. The complete system is programmed, operated and controlled from one interface, simplifying operation. Thanks to a fully integrated reading system, the newest Turbo reads a wide variety of code types including the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) on the document or through the envelope window, matching the mailpiece data file to confirm data quality and accuracy. The Turbo can also use the IMB for mailpiece tracking and control for proof of mailing.

Additionally, the Turbo features the new BICOS 2009 operating system with its redesigned graphical user interface for more intuitive operation. Key improvements include enhanced system layout graphics, expanded reporting, new operating messages with interactive help to enable quick response, and a configurable window that provides system status at a glance.
