Kodak's range of integrated solutions at Print 09

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO - Kodak's full range of integrated solutions for improving production efficiencies and return on marketing investment will be featured in an entirely new way at its booth, #6907, at Print 09.

Based on the theme, "It's time for you AND Kodak," professionals in commercial printing, data-driven communication, publishing, and packaging can customize their experience at Kodak's digital booth based on the unique needs of their business. Through interactive presentations and live discussions, attendees can view samples and learn about products, applications, and trends in the areas of digital printing, prepress and workflow.

"What really stands out about Kodak's booth experience at Print 09 is the innovative approach to knowledge sharing," said Jim Hamilton, Group Director, InfoTrends. "It could foreshadow a totally new paradigm for the effective use of tradeshow budgets by vendors in the graphic arts market. Another advantage is that such a strategy could extend beyond the tradeshow to provide a virtual experience after the tradeshow ends."

New Products Debut at Print 09
Major new product announcements include the introduction of the KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press, a monochrome press based on Kodak's revolutionary Stream Inkjet Technology. Targeting the book and direct mail markets, the PROSPER 1000 Press features a print speed of up to 650 fpm (200 mpm) with image quality approaching 175 lpi, and is easily field upgradeable to the  PROSPER 5000XL Press.

The new KODAK PROSPER 5000XL Press, for color applications, delivers high speed and high quality at a low total cost of ownership. Applications for the PROSPER 5000XL Press include books, direct mail, catalogs/inserts and magazines. The PROSPER Press significantly increases the quantity of books that can be produced digitally at a lower cost than offset.

Kodak also announces the commercial availability of several new Unified Workflow solutions.  The KODAK PRINERGY Workflow 5.1 integrates KODAK COLORFLOW Software, Adobe's latest PDF Print Engine, and greater connectivity options for digital press controllers. KODAK PREPS Imposition Software version 6.0 offers an improved, unified, dynamic user interface so users can quickly create imposition plans, with or without ganging.  The KODAK INSITE Storefront System 6.0 includes a more robust and comprehensive suite of software tools to extend the benefits of Kodak's Web-to-Print Solutions.  The INSITE Storefront System 6.0 is also designed to transform the traditional print shop into a digital, online powerhouse with a depth and breadth of services.

Demonstrations of the KODAK INSITE Campaign Manager will take place in the Unified Workflow section of Kodak's booth.  The INSITE Campaign Manager takes the labor out of multi-channel marketing by controlling campaign elements and schedules, providing logic for targeting and executing campaigns, and tracking measurements with reporting tools that analyze campaign ROI.
Live from Chicago, it's the K-Zone

A highlight at Kodak's booth is the K-Zone, a live talk show set where dynamic unscripted discussions with industry experts, print service providers, and marketing professionals take place daily throughout the show. The K-Zone kicks off at 11 a.m. CDT on Friday, Sept. 11, with the panel discussion "What's Print Got to Do with It?" featuring Antonio M. Perez, Chairman and CEO, Kodak. All K-Zone sessions will be streamed live over the Internet and can be viewed at www.kodak.com/go/print09 by clicking on the "Video Gallery" tab.

A panel discussion called "The Power of Social Media" will take place in the K-Zone at 12:30 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Sept. 13, where visitors can pick up a new booklet created by Kodak, Social Media Tips: Sharing Lessons Learned to Help Your Business Grow. In the publication, Kodak describes some of its best practices and offers companies recommendations on implementing similar social media programs.
