Chromaticity and FineEye Color Solutions to showcase software for G7 Extreme

Press release from the issuing company

Grand Rapids, MI. and Mountain View, CA. - Chromaticity, the leader in distribution and deployment of color management and digital imaging technologies, and FineEye Color Solutions will be showing the ICEserver software application, the first enabling technology for G7 Extreme and Extended Gamut Printing (EGP), in FineEye's booth (#4443) of the south hall at Print '09 in Chicago on September 11-16.

G7 Extreme is one of four levels of G7 Compliance as detailed in the G7 Specification 2008, published by IDEAlliance. G7 Extreme is defined as, "A device or process is in G7 Extreme Compliance when it is G7 Grayscale calibrated, and has a significantly greater natural color space than any G7 Characterized specification, and can be optionally controlled to match any G7 Characterized color space."

Easily integrated with any existing color managed workflow, ICEserver processes PDF files before imaging to CTP or other RIP controller. While maintaining the gray balance and tonality of current targeted and G7 (or SWOP) color spaces, "ICEd" files produce a 20% extended gamut in saturated colors, reduce make ready times, increase dynamic range and reduce ink consumption on average 25%.  ICEserver is based on the Intelligent Color Engine, a revolutionary new technology that optimizes color separations for today's printing. G7 Extreme output can be proofed on Chromaticity's Validation Premium Proofing Paper.

"ICEserver delivers a true win-win for print buyers and print providers," comments Ian Mackenzie, vice president of marketing for Chromaticity and Fine Eye. "It increases the visual appeal of print, adheres to standards and substantially reduces manufacturing costs. Our customers are seeing paybacks in a matter of months while their printing quality increases. That's a great story to tell to our industry today."

Fine Eye's ICEserver has been attracting quite a following as the first enabling technology for the new "G7 Extreme" Compliance. ICE is the core technology in Fine Eye's product portfolio that will feature enterprise servers for web and offset, flexo, gravure, digital and ink jet printing as well as desktop, plug-in and licensable technology for OEMs and Adobe CS users. Printed samples are available at Print '09 that compare GRACoL with G7 Extreme with "ICE Inside".
