Mitsubishi imaging and xpedx join forces

Press release from the issuing company

RYE, N.Y., and CINCINNATI, Ohio, - xpedx and Mitsubishi Imaging (MPM), Inc. have teamed up to bring U.S. commercial and in-plant printers affordable new printing technologies.

The two companies spotlight the other at their respective print technology showrooms in Cincinnati and Rye, N.Y., giving dealers and printers the opportunity to see how equipment from xpedx and Mitsubishi Imaging work together in a live printing environment.

xpedx recently added its RYOBI 784 press, a six-up, four-color press with a space-saving footprint, at Mitsubishi's Rye showroom.  The new xpedx Technology Center presents the Mitsubishi DPX 4 Eco poly platesetter, and xpedx representatives across the U.S. are spotlighting the product in discussions with printers.

In addition, Mitsubishi Imaging will demonstrate a RYOBI 524GE in booth 7337 during PRINT 09 in Chicago, September 11-16.  xpedx will display a Mitsubishi DPX6 Eco platesetter at its booth 1221 during the show.

xpedx offers printers the industry's broadest choice of printing equipment and supplies covering all aspects of its shop, including Ryobi printing presses.  Mitsubishi Imaging offers printers new digital plate CTP equipment that, combined with economical, highly automated Ryobi presses, enable small and midsize printing enterprises to produce high-quality, 2-, 4-, and 6-up short- and medium-run printing with up to 10 colors.

"The RYOBI 750, and 780 series presses and the Mitsubishi DPX 4 Eco poly platesetter are particularly well matched," said John Torrey, vice president and general manager of the xpedx Technology Center. "The Mitsubishi platesetter produces high-quality 4-up CTP plates that work ideally with RYOBI presses. The combination of Ryobi and Mitsubishi Imaging CTP create a high quality, high productivity and affordable option for printers to grow their business and enter new markets."

"Working together, xpedx and Mitsubishi Imaging provide complete and affordable digital print solutions giving printers everything they need to produce best-in-class print," said Frances Cicogna, director of graphic arts marketing, Mitsubishi Imaging. "Our digital CTP solution offers more and enables printers to deliver the quality they need to be competitive while adding to their bottom line."

Cicogna said the xpedx / Mitsubishi Imaging combination is ideal for short-run printing of 500+ impressions.  Its quality and efficiency outperform non-impact digital by streamlining production, lowering costs and enabling the printer to be more profitable.
