Xitron previews proofing option for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Xitron, the prepress industry's leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions today announced a preview of vDot-4, a proofing option with support for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 for Navigator workflow solutions and Navigator Proofing RIPs, at PRINT 09 in Chicago, September 11-16, 2009 in Xitron's booth 6943.

vDot-4 offer users many features and benefits including:
- Direct support for Epson's 7900 and 9900 wide-format inkjet printers
- Direct support for all 11 ink cartridges in the Epson 7900 and 9900 printers
- Extensive control over colors to produce the highest quality proofs
- ICC profiles for Xitron X1 TotalProof inkjet media
- Advanced screening specifically designed for Epson printers
- Optional RIP Once, Output Many Proofing
- Seamless integration with Navigator workflow solutions and Navigator Proofing RIPs

"vDot-4 is the latest release in the vDot family of Epson proofing options from Xitron," stated Mark Eisenschenk, Xitron's President and Chief Executive Officer. "With vDot-4, an Epson 7900 or 9900 and Xitron's X1 inkjet media, users will be able to easily produce high quality, contract proofs that meet industry standards."

The vDot-4 plug-in is an option for any Windows-based Navigator Workflow or Navigator Proofing RIP version 8.0 and higher. North American users who purchase a vDot-4 will also receive a starter roll of Xitron's X1 TotalProof inkjet media. This proofing media was specially formulated to meet the demands of commercial printers by closely matching a typical commercial press sheet.

vDot-4 is one of many productivity enhancement and proofing modules available for Xitron's Navigator workflow solutions. Other modules include a PDF Tools module to create and preflight PDFs; Imposition Integrator that allows users with Dynagram's inpO2 software to impose files directly from the workflow; ink remapping to combine excess plates, and KeySetter Lite, a module which provides a graphic representation of how press ink keys should be set to reduce initial makeready time. A ROOM Proofing module is available for producing RIP Once, Output Many proofs.
