alfaQuest Technologies, Inc. announces new Ink Optimizer Module for PrintExpress

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL - alfaQuest Technologies is pleased to announce the release of their new Ink Optimizer Module for the PrintExpress Consolidated Production Management (CPM) system.

Frank O'Hearn, Systems Technology Director for alfaQuest stated, "In our continuing effort to retain Customer's investment in the evolving newspaper environment, alfaQuest Technologies, Inc. has developed and released Ink Optimizer software for PrintExpress. This PrintExpress CPM system add-on module is designed to reduce color ink costs by 20-30 percent."

As newspaper costs continually increase, Ink Optimizer provides immediate reduction in color ink costs and can return its investment cost in months without sacrificing the quality of your publication.

Ink Optimizer is an integrated PrintExpress module that does not add any overhead to the file processing. Software integration eliminates the need for pre-processing files for optimization before submitting them to the RIP. Ink Optimizer removes file type restrictions by accepting PostScript or PDF files.

When submitted for output, Ink Optimizer evaluates Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black ink coverage. Where appropriate, CMY inks are replaced with less expensive Black ink, while producing similar quality results on press.

Product Highlights
- Ink optimization integrated in PrintExpress system
- Files optimized during the RIPping process
- Ink optimization not limited to PDF files
- Reduction in consumable costs
- Excellent print quality, lower color saturation
- Low cost, fast return on investment
