IGI is Chosen as site of initial North American training

Press release from the issuing company

Pewaukee, Wisconsin - The Institute for Graphics and Imaging (IGI)-an education and training organization funded by and dedicated to the printing and graphic arts industry-has been chosen as the site of the first North American training in Process Standard Offset (PSO) by Alwan Color Expertise, the organizer and provider of this training.  The training will be delivered by Elie Khoury, founder and CEO of Alwan ; and Supree Thongpetch, founder and CEO of Colour Doctor.  Both are members of KEE Consultants, an international network of standardization experts that is accredited by Fogra and Ugra as PSO experts and partners. Khoury and Thongpetch both have a track record of PSO-certified sites in Europe and Asia.  The initial training-which will occur on September 8 and 9, 2009-is available only to Alwan Preferred Dealers and their customers.  Subsequent training sessions will be open to others.

According to industry trainer and consultant David Hunter, "Process Standard Offset, which is rapidly gaining foothold among European printers and constitutes an extension to the valuable G7 certification, provides a comprehensive evaluation of every aspect of a printer's workflow to ensure best practices and optimal results.  Printers can point to their completion of the program as an indicator of their prowess and dedication to process control."

Commenting on the selection of IGI as the initial Process Standard Offset training site, IGI Executive Director Ron Dahl said: "IGI is rapidly becoming recognized as the premier training facility for printers in the Midwest.  We are honored to have been selected as the site for PSO training."

The Institute for Graphics and Imaging provides education and training in the graphic design, printing, and related industries.  Supported by a vast network of industry suppliers, printers, publishers, and governmental agencies, IGI operates on the campus of the Waukesha County Technical College in suburban Milwaukee.  IGI facilities, which include computer classrooms and access to the latest printing equipment, are available for sales events and corporate training courses.  For additional information go to www.igi.org or call 262-695-6260.
