Mark Bohan is Elected to the CIP4 Advisory Board

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, PA, November 14, 2008 -- The Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) is proud to announce the election of its Vice President, Research and Technology, Dr. Mark Bohan, to the International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) Organization's Advisory Board.

CIP4's Advisory Board is the highest authority of the association and has three classifications of membership - partner, full, and associate. Dr. Bohan will hold an associate position representing printers. "It is an honor to be elected to the CIP4 advisory board, especially when there were such strong candidates and competition for the positions," said Bohan. He was one of three individuals to be elected out of seven candidates.

Dr. Bohan is well qualified for the position and has a strong technical background within the industry. Bohan is active in the CIP4 Technical Steering Committee. He also created the JDF certification program at PIA/GATF which works to continually expand and improve the interoperability between products. This program has produced over thirty separate certifications so far.

JDF User Group in North America -- a collaboration between PIA/GATF and CIP4 -- is run by Dr. Bohan. This group's next meeting will be held at Cox Target Media on November 18 and 19. The goal of this meeting is to not only establish a peer group and provide implementation solutions for printers using JDF enabled systems, but also to open communication lines between these users and vendors on the implementation and utilization of JDF-enabled systems across multiple vendor platforms.
