Brown Industries Installs Komori LS640

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, July 22, 2008-- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Brown Industries, Dalton, GA, has installed its first Komori press, a six-color, Lithrone S40 (LS640). For more than 50 years, Brown Industries has created point-of-sale materials such as displays, brochures, banners, signs, and direct mail pieces for a variety of industries that include grocery, home improvement, and automotive.  With the installation of the LS640, Brown Industries now enjoys cutting-edge press automation that quickly and effectively increases press room productivity.

To meet industry demand for quick turnaround, Brown Industries sought to upgrade its capabilities by adding an additional six-color machine to its existing two presses.  The advanced automation of the LS640 provides a level of technology that significantly reduces job cycle times, ensuring improved productivity and profitability with today's shorter run printing work.

"Although this is our first Komori, I have been a Komori advocate for years.  When it came time to purchase another press, Komori was top of mind, I knew their solutions had the functionality we needed to decrease our production time," said Bill Gillespie, executive vice president and head of operations for Brown Industries.  "With the LS640, work that previously took ten hours from start to finish can now be accomplished in just three hours.  This significantly speeds our time to market, helping us to meet customer demand for tight deadlines and enhance profitability."

"When a company serves the retail community, time to market is extremely critical. We are pleased the addition of the LS640 has helped Brown Industries streamline operations and continue to deliver exceptional results," said Mark Hopkins, regional manager for Komori's Central East Region.
