Asiatic Printing Press orders KBA Rapida 75

Press release from the issuing company

(July 23, 2008) Asiatic Printing Press is a full-service print provider based in Ajman, on the outskirts of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Established in 1993, it prints a broad spectrum of products with the main focus on commercials, from sophisticated business reports to brochures and magazines, posters, postcards and greetings cards. Half- and medium-format KBA presses have operated for many years now alongside presses from other manufacturers. The most recent addition from KBA was a Rapida 105 universal five-colour coater press delivered in 2006.

At Drupa in May Asiatic Printing Press’s management once again opted for KBA technology in the shape of a new-generation Rapida 75 half-size 3B (29-inch) press, which is scheduled to ship in September. Like the Rapida 105 it will be configured with five printing units, a Harris & Bruno coater and an extended delivery. On top of that it will feature nonstop facilities at the feeder and delivery, automatic plate changing, remote adjustment of diagonal register, and washing systems for the rollers and blankets. Pre-press data for presetting the ink keys can be downloaded at the control console via a JDF interface. Asiatic Printing Press is installing the new Rapida 75 with a view to shortening makeready times and enhancing image quality. The excellent support provided by KBA sales agency Giffin Graphics was once again a major factor influencing the company’s choice of a Rapida.

In addition to offset litho Asiatic Printing Press also runs digital and screen-printing presses. Apart from the typical printing and bookbinding work it takes on the company also provides industrial photographic and creative services for products it prints. Corporate magazines, for example, can be produced entirely in-house, from the original design to the finished copy, including editorial content and graphic layout. Direct contact to customers is maintained via a customer centre in the heart of Dubai. And thanks to Asiatic’s proximity to the seaport and airport it can also promise high-speed delivery to customers abroad.
