BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s Norton Receives Business Continuity Accreditation

Press release from the issuing company

Bethlehem, Penn., July 21 2008 – Greg Norton, business development manager for BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's Business Continuity Services (BCS) facility in Bethlehem, has been certified as an Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) by DRI International.

"This certification enables BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's BCS facility to align itself within disaster recovery coordination teams," said Norton. "It enhances our credibility in discussing and participating in continuity planning strategies beyond production mail, and provides extra value and assurance to our BCS customers."

BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's BCS facility can seamlessly transition and mirror clients' mailroom operations upon the declaration of an emergency or overcapacity situation. They help clients in various fields – including banking, finance, government, health care, insurance, telecommunications and utilities – continue their critical printing and mailing functions like generating and distributing statements, bills, notifications, etc.

The ABCP certification process requires two years' industry experience with functional contribution to five of 10 professional practices:

- Project Initiation and Management
- Risk Evaluation and Control
- Business Impact Analysis
- Developing Business Continuity Management Strategies
- Emergency Response and Operations
- Developing and Implementing Business Continuity Plans
- Awareness and Training Programs
- Exercising and Maintaining Business Continuity Plans
- Crisis Communications
- Coordination with External Agencies

Additional ABCP requirements include a passing grade on the qualifying exam, application submittal, review, and interview by a DRI board member. Norton's functional experience and contributions were validated by current BCS subscribers and business partners, and his application included functional experience and contribution in seven of the 10 practices.

Norton now joins the more than 3,500 individuals throughout the world who maintain professional certifications through DRI International.

DRI International was founded in 1988 as the Disaster Recovery Institute in order to develop a base of knowledge in contingency planning and the management of risk.
