Muller Martini to showcase Alprinta-V At Labelexpo

Press release from the issuing company

(July 16, 2008) Alprinta-V press with continuously size-variable capability can mean faster changeovers and extensive cost savings for package producers
Visitors to Labelexpo Americas 2008 are invited to stop by the Muller Martini booth (#5924) where they can see how the company's new and innovative web press technology can bring greater profit potential to the production of various packaging products.  Labelexpo will be held September 9, 10 and 11, 2008 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.

During the event, Muller Martini will display two static printing units from its Alprinta-V continuously size-variable web press.  One unit will be offset, the other flexo, underscoring the hybrid printing capabilities of the versatile Alprinta-V.  The offset version is highlighted by its quick-change cylinder, and the flexo version features a quick-change sleeve.

Among the key engineering features of Alprinta-V series presses is the utilization of a continuously size variable insert system.  The insert remains in the press during a size change, since only the actual size parts – the blanket cylinder and the plate cylinder – are exchanged.  The change is completed without tools and breaking the web is not necessary.  The size parts are light and easy to handle, yet extremely stable.  In a matter of minutes, the press can be changed over to a new size.

Thus, the Alprinta-V possesses a size variability that is comparable with flexo and gravure printing, making the press very well suited for an extensive range of label and packaging applications.  What's more, the 1,200 ft./min. Alprinta-V features Muller Martini's renowned job set-up technology for incredibly fast make-readies, saving labor costs and freeing up plant personnel for other tasks.

On the floor at Labelexpo Americas 2008, Muller Martini will present a live demonstration of a size part change to provide show attendees with a first-hand look at how quickly the Alprinta-V can be converted to a new repeat length.  Also, the company will display many top-quality packaging samples produced on the Alprinta-V.  The samples will encompass a diverse range of materials including shrink sleeve films, PVC, OPP, POPP, self-adhesives, paper labels and in-mold labels.

Labelexpo Americas is the largest event for the label, product decoration, web printing and converting industry in the Americas.  Past shows have attracted nearly 14,000 visitors as well as more than 400 exhibitors with over 80 countries represented.
