New Direct Jet Printers From Direct Color

Press release from the issuing company

BERLIN, CONN., USA -- Direct Color Systems  (DCS) will unveil its newest Direct-to-Substrate, flat bed ink jet printer line at the Awards and Recognition Association trade show, Feb. 25-27, 2009, in Las Vegas, NV.  Headlining the premier are the Direct Jet 1309, Direct Jet 1314 and the Direct Jet 1324 models.

“This new printer line continues to expand on the success of the existing line, the Direct Jet 1212 and 1320 models,” says Blair Allen, President of DCS.  “One of the exciting new additions to the line is the Direct Jet 1309 model.  It combines all of the quality features the Direct Jet line has become known for in a smaller, more economical package.  Additionally, the Direct Jet 1324 is the largest printer offered to date by Direct Color Systems. With optimized resolution up to 5760 dpi, the 1324’s bed size is 13”x 24” (330mm x 609mm) with the capacity to accommodate substrates up to 6” (152mm) thick.”

The entire line is very user-friendly.  “We have incorporated many of our customers’ suggestions into this new product line,” says Blair Allen.  “Plus, Direct Color Systems’ new, brighter MultiSolve white ink provides the ability to print vibrant, full color images onto various colors of substrates.”

The entire new Direct Jet line utilizes “professional series” ink flow components.  Both the capping station and print head are solvent resistant.  The print head also has an ink repelling coating to ensure consistent, reliable printing.  This line’s eight chamber print head houses 180 nozzles per chamber.  In addition to the standard CMYK, the print head contains two chambers for white and two chambers for clear ink.   The clear overcoat option seals the images for added durability.

The Direct Jet series images directly onto a variety of substrates, including tiles, PVC, aluminum, wood, injection molded plastic, acrylic, crystal, electrical components, CDs, DVDs, and much more.

The Direct Jet 1314 will also debut alongside the Direct Jet 1309 and the Direct Jet 1324 in Las Vegas.  It contains all the advanced features found in the Direct Jet 1324 but in a mid-sized, economical package.  The bed size on the model 1309 is 13” x 9” (330mm x 228mm) with a 2” (50mm) height allowance and the model 1314 is 13”x14” (330mm x 355mm) with a 3” (76mm) height allowance.

Direct Color SystemsÔ engineers, manufactures and markets small format, direct-to-substrate thermal and ink jet flat bed printers.  The company also markets related printing supplies, including software, inks, substrates and accessories.

Founded in 1995, DCS’s mission is, “Creating Customer Profitability through Continual Innovation.”  The company sells through distributors in over 30 different countries around the world.  DCS is located in central Connecticut at 1436 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, USA.
