Univenture Named FTA Award Winner

Press release from the issuing company

Marysville, OH -- Univenture is pleased to announce it has won a 2009 Excellence in Flexography Award in the Flexographic Technical Association's Annual Awards Competition.  The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) is the leading technical society dedicated solely to the flexographic printing industry.  Judging was held January 25-27, 2009, and the award went to a custom printed, polypropylene EnvyPak mailer created for Little Brown Books.

"We are honored to win an Excellence in Flexography Award.  Our creative products and variety of printing capabilities have allowed us to win various awards for our high-quality printing," said Ross Youngs, CEO of Univenture.  "Although many printing companies advertise customer solutions, it is gratifying when independent industry experts verify it by providing recognition through awards," added Youngs.

The awarded piece was used as packaging for a book by author, James Patterson, entitled The Final Warning.  Using full color flexographic printing directly onto the 100% polypropylene envelope, they were able to create memorable packaging for the new title.  Customization of the already unique Univenture product line is the hallmark of the company, as they offer easy ways to add value and differentiate products with endless customization possibilities.

The competition was open to all flexographic printers, print buyers, and qualified graphic arts schools throughout the world.  FTA Members and non-members alike were invited to participate.

"All entries were coded to conceal the company from which they were submitted," explained Shelley Rubin, Educational Program Coordinator for the FTA.  "Entries were judged strictly on technical achievement and the judges were extremely stringent on enforcing the rules and regulations that were required for submission."

Award winners will be on display during the 2009 FFTA Annual Forum and will be formally announced during the President's Awards Reception on Sunday, May 3, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The Flexographic Technical Association's Annual Excellence in Flexography Awards Competition was first organized in 1960, and has grown in stature and industry recognition each year.  The competition has been instrumental in contributing to the growth and achievement of flexographic printing, as printers pursue the prestige of displaying a winner's plaque with their printed designs.
