Canady Named Chairman of the Board for PIAG

SMYRNA, Ga. -- The Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG) has announced David S. Canady, president of Imedia Group in Macon, Georgia, as their 2009 Chairman of the Board.
 
As chairman, Canady will lead an all-volunteer board of 22 officers and directors. This board is responsible for protecting and advancing the vision and mission of PIAG through regular meetings concerning all aspects of the association. Canady will be responsible for ensuring the success of the 2009 PIAG Board initiatives, and he will represent PIAG throughout the industry and the rest of the business community. Canady and the board will focus on increasing the recognition of the importance of print media in our local, state and national marketplace, as well as to our legislature. Additionally, the association will work to develop future industry leaders and a technically trained workforce.
 
Since 1894, The Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG) has been the voice of one of the state’s largest manufacturing industries. PIAG currently represents over 400 printing and imaging firms from throughout the state of Georgia. The association supports its members with a focus on education and services that aid business success, and promotes awareness of printing and imaging as a first choice medium among media buyers. PIAG recognizes printing and imaging as an integral part of daily life and as a result is also active in protecting the best interests of its members in government affairs on both a statewide and national level. Prior to being named chairman, Canady served as chairman of PIAG’s Educational Foundation. He is also a member of the Downtown Rotary Club of Macon and the Skills USA Youth Development Foundation. In addition to his industry service, Canady has served on multiple boards, many with leadership roles, in charitable organizations in Central Georgia including, but not limited to, the Museum of Aviation Foundation, American Cancer Society, Central Georgia Advertising Federation, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Georgia Children’s Museum. He is also a member of Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church.
