INX International to Focus on Green, Sustainable Inks at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL – October 23, 2008 - With a rich history of developing new and enhanced products over the years, it comes as no surprise what INX International Ink Co. is adding to its talent-laden roster.  INX will use Graph Expo (booth #417) as the platform to launch the new EcoPure HPJ Soy premium quality inks and EcoTech process color inks, in addition to the SPEC RTP3000 automated paste ink dispenser.  Graph Expo runs from October 26-29 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

"These inks are just one example of our active and ongoing commitment to developing more environmentally friendly products," said INX President and CEO Rick Clendenning.  "Likewise, our focus includes assisting customers in advancing productivity and profit potential in related areas such as meeting GRACoL standards and earning certification."

The new EcoPure HPJ Soy process inks are more environmentally friendly than the popular EcoPure HPJ.  The process color hues comply with ISO 2846-1 and are suitable for GRACoL G7 certification.  It delivers with superb ink performance on press with either FM or conventional screening, as well as fast startups with less substrate waste and fast set times. These inks, ideal for in-line OPV or aqueous coating, or UV coating after 48-72 hours, are expected to be ready for shipment by the end of 2008.

Extremely environmentally friendly, the EcoTech process color inks are rich in bio-based renewable raw materials (over 61 percent) and very low in VOC's (less than 3 percent).  They also give printers a tremendous edge in on-press performance with excellent dot sharpness, press stability, and fast set and dry times. EcoTech inks conform to ISO 2846-1 and are suitable for GRACoL G7 certification.  Additionally, they "stay-open" and reduce waste and wash-ups, can be left in the fountain overnight, and are ideal for aqueous coating or OP Varnishing in-line with VP Soy Overprint Varnish, and foil stamping or UV coating after 48-72 hours.

The SPEC RTP3000 automated paste ink dispenser is a small batch system that can dispense 1-to-10 lb. batches in minutes.  An extremely affordable option, the unit's advanced dispensing mechanism uses standard 8-lb. Sonoco ink cartridges and has a unique shut-off valve for precise control.  An easy-to-use Windows interface allows operators to get up-to-speed very quickly and can save printers 25-50 percent in costs by blending brand specific or other special colors in a matter of minutes.

INX representatives will be available to answer questions about the new inks and the dispenser, and can discuss the Master Printer Certification process with printers.

INX will feature more special inks in the booth at Graph Expo.  The Fusion UV Hybrid process inks enable printers to go from conventional into hybrid runs without reconfiguring presses or conditioning rollers.  Comparable to the best conventional litho inks, they offer exceptional adhesion to multiple substrates are formulated to be VOC-free and qualifies for the Soy Seal, too.  The INXCure UVXcel high-performance inks are used for a range of general commercial print applications, offer superb dot sharpness, color consistency and running stability with UV ease and speed.

Offset printers can learn more about the performance-proven ColorTrac series.  ColorTrac SS is specially formulated for fine-line random dot screening on high-end catalogues.  Color Trac Lo-Temp UVC process inks can save printers between 15-20 percent in energy costs with its excellent drying times at reduced temperatures.
