Ryobi Chooses MetalFX for Graph Expo Demonstration

Press release from the issuing company

West Chester, OH,  22 October 2008-Ryobi has chosen MetalFX Technology to showcase the special effects capabilities of the RYOBI 7510 press-a 23x31-inch, six-up, ten-color, UV-capable, long perfector.  Ryobi will print and coat MetalFX images in xpedx booth 654 to produce a poster available to show attendees.  xpedx is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Ryobi-branded offset printing presses

Discussing the selection of MetalFX images by Ryobi for their Graph Expo 2008 demonstration, MetalFX Vice President-Americas Mark Geeves commented: "We are gratified that Ryobi has chosen MetalFX Technology to highlight their press.  Printers and graphic designers around the world are finding that MetalFX enables them to produce striking images for a variety of purposes."

"We chose to print with MetalFX because it demonstrates how the 7510 can help printers differentiate their businesses with special effects printing," said John Torrey, vice president and general manager of xpedx Printing Technologies.  Torrey explained the full-bleed press is equipped with UV coating and UV interdeck dryers that allow a printer to do traditional four-over-four and five-over-five work but also enables chemical embossed printing, specialty stock printing and, of course, MetalFX printing, all on the same machine.  "The MetalFX images pop off the page, showing both printers and designers that special effects printing can affordably deliver extraordinary results," he said.

MetalFX, a recent Ciba Corporation acquisition, is a universal process and spot metallic color system that allows millions of metallic colors to be printed, all by adding only the one base silver ink to the usual CMYK mix.  Ciba Specialty brings more than 40 years of experience in color matching to the worldwide graphic arts, paints, plastics, fiber and ceramic industries.
