Xerox Office Group Names RSA Software Partner of the Year

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY, October 17, 2008 -   In the past decade that Rochester Software Associates, Inc. has been a Xerox partner, RSA has been honored a record eight times as Software Partner of the Year.  Now, based on the great success of RSA's Scan to Print Center solution, RSA is honored to receive a Software Partner of the Year award from Xerox Office Group (XOG). RSA was also named Software Partner of the Year by Xerox's Production Systems Group earlier this year, making this the first time a Partner has received this prestigious award from both groups in the same year!

Approximately 250 software vendors, systems integrators, resellers and other partners convened in Savannah this week for the second annual XOG conference. RSA received the award at the conference, where Kevin Beatson, Vice President of Sales at RSA said "RSA is honored to be singled out again by our corporate neighbor and partner!"

RSA develops workflow software applications that let companies consolidate, optimize and manage data center and network printing. QDirect.SCAN integrates directly with Xerox MFPs that use the Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) and lets customers scan hardcopy documents from the MFP to a centralized print center for efficient printing. Customers can specify ticketing options, such as the number of copies, single or double-sided, finishing, etc., as well as user and accounting information, all directly from the MFP's user-friendly touchscreen.

With QDirect.SCAN, there is no need to scan to a desktop or FTP server, and then migrate to a PC to actually ticket and submit the job. QDirect.SCAN automatically creates the electronic job ticket required to print to any production printer. In fact, upon submission at the MFP, a confirmation page is automatically printed at the MFP, noting the job ticket requirements and optionally printing the job cost, the account balance and thumbnails of the scanned original.  Once sent to production, the job can even begin printing without any operator involvement.  Alternatively, jobs can be held and routed to different devices, based on job characteristics and printer capabilities.  Jobs can even be released by location to facilitate courier delivery.

RSA's solutions bridge the gap between Office and Production equipment, increasing the use of both.  As jobs are migrated to Production, end users can leverage more paper stock and finishing options than they might have access to at a local copier.  Jobs are produced on more efficient Production printers, saving money and eliminating lines at the copier.

These capabilities have made QDirect.SCAN very popular in education settings.  Teachers report saving up to two hours each week using QDirect.SCAN.  Instead of spending money at a service bureau or spending time making their own copies, users spend just a few seconds scanning and ticketing their documents, and going back to their job.

Thanks to this automation, QDirect.SCAN customers handle more work, faster and more efficiently, without adding staff.  As a result, many Print Centers promise that jobs submitted by 3pm will be delivered before class the next morning.

"The added functionality of QDirect.SCAN makes the MFPs more desirable to both users and the enterprise and typically results in more MFPs being installed and leases being renewed," noted Anthony Leccese, Product Manager for Output Solutions at RSA.  "It's a win-win-win for end users, Print Centers, and the enterprises who adopt the more efficient workflow."  QDirect.SCAN is available from both the Xerox Office Group and Xerox Production Systems Group.
