KODAK NEXPRESS Approved and Licensed by Pantone

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 19-There is new indisputable evidence of the quality and color consistency of KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Color Production Presses. Pantone, Inc., a world leader in color standards, licensed all KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses as approved for the PANTONEMATCHING SYSTEM and the new PANTONE GOE System.

Achieving Pantone approval is confirmation that a production device is capable of achieving approved PANTONE Colors. The color range is larger than ever, with Pantone's introduction in late 2007 of the new PANTONE GOE System, which adds more than 2,000 unique colors to the just less than 1,200 in the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM.

"Pantone licensing is news that can help NEXPRESS Press users sell more digital print work by differentiating their print output," said Steve Fletcher, General Manager, Electrophotographic Printing Solutions, and Vice President, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. "It lets print buyers know that their print provider will be able to meet their image quality expectations with the NEXPRESS Presses and that the final print will match their design requirements."

The PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM and PANTONE GOE System designations apply to the following NEXPRESS Presses: S3000, S2500, S2100, 2500, 2100 Plus and 2100. New installations, as well as those already at customers' locations, are approved according to PANTONE Color standards.

"Receiving official Pantone approval involves a rigorous process to assure that a device can deliver the highest standards of accurate color reproduction," said Andy Hatkoff, Vice President of Advanced ColorSystems, Pantone. "The ability to reproduce PANTONE Color standards consistently and accurately provides major advantages that increase customer loyalty and business for print providers."

"This industry renowned standard is further substantiation that Kodak is dedicated to providing innovative solutions that meet the demanding needs of the graphic communications market as print providers continue to adopt and use digital printing as a way to expand their business and profit from the many changes occurring in the industry," continued Fletcher.
