Wilson becomes managing director of B&P Graphic Systems

Press release from the issuing company

(May 15, 2008) Chertsey-based B&P Graphic Systems has appointed Andrew Wilson as its new managing director. He takes over from David Burton who has moved onto Fujifilm Sericol as European sales director.

Wilson (43) has been with B&P for more than ten years, starting in sales before moving to a management role and, subsequently, to the position of sales director. Prior to joining the company he was with engraving specialist, Gravograph, where he was involved in the software side of the operation.

With comprehensive knowledge of B&P Graphic Systems and the full Uniform product range, Wilson's experience made him the logical choice as managing director of the well-known company. Having witnessed at first-hand the growth of the wide-format digital printing market during the past decade, he is quick to acknowledge present day industry trends and changes and his direction will reflect the current and future buying trends within this sector.

"We're going to concentrate on what we do best," states Wilson. "Our strong relationships with manufacturers such as Agfa and Mutoh give B&P a very strong advantage with entry-level and mid-range systems which use UV-curable and solvent-based ink technologies. Additionally, we're going to boost the potential available with digital textiles, a market sector which is growing in the UK."

Wilson also plans to build on customer support and to develop what he describes as being a fresher and more friendly approach. As such, he is also taking direct responsibility for B&P's engineering division which he believes is a key element to the company's success.

The Uniform brand of wide-format products will continue to be enhanced, with new machines, materials and consumables coming online throughout the year. This will include more environmentally aware media, as well as economy and premium ranges to suit all types of output.

"After ten years spent wholly in a sales environment, I'm excited about the prospect of being in a general management role which encompasses all that B&P Graphic Systems offers," concludes Wilson. "However, my pragmatic business approach is based on the knowledge that, in economic terms, the current climate means that we will continue to present a stable and positive environment for all of our existing and potential customers."
