KAMA Will Introduce ProCut 53 at drupa 2008

Press release from the issuing company

Dresden, Germany, May 6, 2008 - KAMA GmbH will present the first automatic off-line flat-bed die cutter for the A3 format at drupa 2008 in Booth D31/Hall D.

Built on the same principle as the company's trusted automatic KAMA ProCut 74 die cutter, the ProCut 53 opens up new possibilities for the fast, precise finishing of A3 sheets. Job printers, book binders and, in particular, digital printers who want to add more value to their businesses should make a point of taking a look at this innovative off-line solution.

"The finishing of print products is a mega trend," says KAMA CEO Marcus Tralau. "In the area of digital printing, finishing also will grow in importance."

Hybrid Die Cutter for Finishing
A true all-rounder for the 530x400 mm format, the KAMA ProCut 53 performs die cutting, creasing, perforating, kiss-cutting and finishing with cold embossing and Braille. A hot-foil stamping module is being developed.

KAMA also has developed some creative options for the ProCut 74 finishing die cutter, which it will demonstrate at drupa. These include a quick-change system for the hot foil module and the motor-driven cutting force adjustment. In addition to applications also handled by the ProCut 53, the ProCut 74 hybrid die cutter is excellently suited for hot foil stamping and combined hot foil stamping and embossing, as well as for hologram stamping and high-quality hot cutting. With minimal set-up times, the functions of the ProCut 74 can be changed several times a day, making the processing and finishing of even small print runs profitable.

Flexibility for Folding and Gluing
The newly developed KAMA ProFold 74 folder-gluer will also have its international premiere at drupa 2008. Designed for printers, book binders and trade binderies, the KAMA ProFold 74 is a fast, user-friendly machine that creates intricate cross folders, ticket pockets and mailing envelopes, CD cases and capacity folders. The unique tool mounting grid of the ProFold 74 (patent pending) enables tools to be rapidly positioned in any sequence, guaranteeing minimal set-up times and fast job changes. The variety of tools for the ProFold 74 includes upper and lower folding pocket, small and large plow folds and a hot glue application system, as well as a folding and gluing system for capacity pockets and folders.

"Our flexible machine concepts and our continual development of new tools and options enable KAMA machines to grow along with the demands of the market," says Tralau.

KAMA has been selected to be a part of the 'Highlights Tours' at drupa 2008, based on the company's continual development of innovative finishing solutions. The guided tours are designed to give drupa visitors a quick overview of several clearly defined areas of interest. The tours are organized by Verlag Deutscher Drucker in German, English, French, Spanish and Chinese. More information can be found at www.highlightstouren.de <http://www.highlightstouren.de> .
