Standard Register Elects New Board Members and COO

DAYTON, Ohio - April 28, 2008--Standard Register announced the election of three new board members and a chief operating officer last week. Five incumbent board members were also re-elected.

"The recent addition of these three highly-credentialed individuals to our board of directors will be an outstanding asset to Standard Register," said Dennis Rediker, president and CEO. "The breadth of their experience will certainly benefit the company, from strategy to execution."

Below are details on the backgrounds of the newly-appointed individuals.

David Bailis, board member

David Bailis currently runs his own consulting company. Prior to that he served as senior executive vice president at First Data Corp., a leading provider of electronic commerce and payment solutions. He also led a firm that provided "angel" investing, as well as serving as a partner at a law firm and an adjunct professor of law. Bailis received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri and earned his bachelor's of commerce from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Michael Kohlsdorf, board member

Michael Kohlsdorf serves as president, chief executive officer of Aderant Holdings, Inc. Aderant provides solutions to the world's largest and most prominent service organizations and focuses on the legal profession. Prior to that he was senior vice president, Enterprise Services & Information Technology for IKON Office Solutions, Inc. Previously he held executive positions with a number of software companies including American Software and IBM. Kohlsdorf received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame Notre Dame, Indiana. He earned his bachelor's in business administration from Western Connecticut University in Danbury, Connecticut.

Eric McCarthey, board member

Eric McCarthey is currently president of The Coca-Cola Company's 7-Eleven Global business team. Previously he served as senior vice president of National Sales and Marketing for Coca-Cola Fountain, North America. He has also held key positions with restaurant chains such as Burger King and Chart House. McCarthey earned his MBA from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. He received his bachelor's from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.

Shareholders also re-elected directors David Clarke, III, Roy Begley, Jr., Dennis Rediker, John Schiff, Jr. and John Sherman, II to the board.

Joe Morgan, executive vice president & chief operating officer

Joe Morgan was appointed executive VP and COO last week. "Joe has a healthy variety of experiences that uniquely qualify him for this role including positions in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Operations and Technology. During his seven years with SR he has run a mix of business, as well as leading significant improvements in operational excellence, customer satisfaction, productivity and profitability," said Rediker.

"Joe will be focused on improving day to day performance and results, as well as increasing our pace of execution in responding to customer needs, to sustain SR's competitive advantage. I will take a more external view--concentrating on the longer-term configuration of the company, its capabilities, partnerships, acquisitions and investor relations," Rediker said.

Most recently, Morgan held the role of managing Standard Register's On Demand Solutions Group, in addition to serving as chief technology officer for the company. He became CTO in 2003. He began with SR as president and chief executive officer of SMARTworks in 2001. Prior to joining SMARTworks, Morgan served as president of eflatbed.com, where he led the creation of an online logistic management product that was delivered as an application service provider (ASP) in the metals, lumber and building products industries.

Earlier in his career, Morgan served as president and chairman of the board of Sony Chemical Corporation of America, where he led the company through the start-up and development of its first integrated manufacturing operation outside of Japan. He joined Sony Chemical as VP Sales and Marketing. Morgan also served in an executive position with FLEXcon, a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive film products and labeling materials.

Morgan holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., a bachelor's in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Clark University in Worcester.
