Clemson University Presents Corporate Sponsor Award to Printable Technologies

Press release from the issuing company

April 23, 2007 -- Printable Technologies, Inc., leading provider of Web to Print workflow and Variable Data Printing (VDP) solutions, was presented with a Corporate Sponsor Award from Clemson University's Department of Graphic Communications on the evening of April 10, 2007. The Graphic Communications Awards Night is held annually to recognize leadership in the Graphic Arts industry for support and commitment to the advancement of graphic communications in general and the continued growth of the Department of Graphic Communications at Clemson University. Six individuals from companies in various commercial segments are recognized each year with a "Top Cat Award," distributed since 1990. In 1993, the awards were expanded to include Corporate Sponsor Awards for companies that have provided support to the Department of Graphic Communications. "These awards recognize a long-term continued effort to support the goals and objectives of educating the students and faculty in the Department of Graphic Communications," said Dr. John Leininger, Professor, Department of Graphic Communications, Clemson University. A hands-on philosophy underscores all of Clemson's Graphic Communications activities, and is a significant factor in the program's ability to prepare practical, problem-solving people ready to move into the 21st Century. "When we started teaching variable data skills, Printable Technologies offered to support us in any way they could with whatever we needed, including fully functional software applications," added Leininger. "Now with our move to provide training for Web to Print storefronts, they are giving us software licenses and the same great training and support. Printable has recognized that working with students comes back; it pays off in the long run. We appreciate their effort and want to recognize them for it." "We at Printable Technologies hold Dr. Leininger and Clemson University in high regard for their outstanding work in our industry, and as such we are deeply honored and accept this award with great pleasure," said Douglas Cogan, Vice President of VDP Technology, Printable Technologies, who also met with Clemson students to discuss career opportunities in prepress, direct mail, and graphic design. "Our longstanding relationship has, we believe, made it possible for Clemson students to be equipped with skills that will make them highly desirable to a many companies in the Graphic Arts industry."
