Airport Printing Service licenses MetalFX

Press release from the issuing company

El Paso, TX, March 2008-Airport Printing Service-a progressive, environmentally conscious commercial printer serving clients nationwide from El Paso, Texas-has licensed the MetalFX printing process.  Developed in England and only recently available in the US, MetalFX permits printing millions of metallic colors with ease and reliability.  Said Airport Printing's Mike McCorgary, announcing the new capability: "Traditional metallic printing involves using multiple ink sets to achieve results which can be expensive and difficult to control or predict.  Our MetalFX process, on the other hand, uses only one MetalFX metallic ink plus conventional CMYK inks to produce literally millions of metallic hues.  Designers and print buyers specifying our new MetalFX process can avail themselves of the most modern and consistent method of metallic printing available.  We are pleased to be one of the first printers, both in the Southwest and in the US, to bring this exciting new technology to our clients."

MetalFX, a recent Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corporation acquisition, is a universal process and spot metallic color system that allows millions of metallic colors to be printed, all by adding only the one base silver ink to the usual CMYK mix. Ciba Specialty brings more than 40 years of experience in color matching to the worldwide graphic arts, paints, plastics, fibers and ceramic industries.
