Grand Rapids Press wins Print Quality Award Using Central Ink Corporation's Ink

Press release from the issuing company

WEST CHICAGO, Illinois, June 23, 2008 – The Grand Rapids Press, using ink manufactured by Central Ink Corporation, won third place in the 2007 Print Quality Awards in the 100,001-250,000 circulation category, recently held by the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association.

Judges evaluated entries for black ink density settings, spot color laydown, process color printing, color registration, black-and-white halftone quality, page alignment and overall print appearance.

In addition to the Print Quality Award, The Grand Rapids Press was one of fifty newspapers, and the only newspaper in the U.S., inducted into the International Newspaper Color Quality Club for 2008-2010.  IFRA, The Newspaper Association of America and the Pacific Area Newspaper Publisher's Association chose the winners among 198 newspapers from 39 countries that participated in the worldwide newspaper printing quality competition.  The newspapers were judged by a nine-member international jury on their printing and reproduction quality.
