Düsseldorf/Oakdale – drupa – June 19th, 2008 – During the two weeks of drupa, NELA was able to close many transactions with customers from all over the world.

Among NELA's new customers are "Freie Presse", Chemnitz; "Thairath Newspaper", Bangkok; "Times of India" and "Dainik Baskar" both of India; "Zero Hora", Brazil and "Quick Marsh" of England newspapers.

The evening before drupa, the Freie Presse in Chemnitz, Germany decided to use NELA punchbending devices for complete automation of their prepress area. Three (3) NELA Evolution Vision PunchBenders, in connection with Kodak CTP devices, will punch and bend the plates before they are transported to the new manroland press via three (3) NELA plate elevators. The plates will be delivered directly into a 40-position stacker sorted according to customer specifications. With the NELA Page Tracking Software the operator is able to monitor every single plate's location at any time of the process.

Thairath Newspaper of Bangkok signed a contract with NELA for two (2) NELA VCP Evolutions with a multi-position stacker. For this order, the punched and bent plates are transported on a conveyor through the wall directly to the stacker located next to the press.

At the Times of India, the largest English speaking daily newspaper in the world, the existing NELA installation will be enlarged and modified. They purchased two (2) VCP Evolutions at drupa.

Dainik Baskar from India also decided on NELA inline solutions. Both of their locations, in Jaipur and Ahmdabad, will receive a VCP Evolution with an 8-position stacker in September 2008. The punched and bent plates will go on a KBA Prisma Rotation.

A NELA Ecobender Vision will soon punch and bend the printing plates of Quickmarsh in England for their DGM printing press. The Ecobender V offers vision alignment and is inline with the CTP device. This machine is designed for the lower volume printing house. Quickmarsh sealed the deal with NELA on Monday at drupa.

Two (2) VCPs (one with M-capabilities) will go to the South American continent. The newspaper Zero Hora in Porto Alegre in Brazil has purchased them to punch and bent plates for their new Wifag press.

Besides these newspaper transactions, many projects on the commercial side of business could be closed as well.

"Drupa 2008 has been a very successful tradeshow for us", comments President Frank Neumeister. "We have a few more projects in the pipeline which we hope to close soon as an immediate result of our drupa 2008 efforts. I guess this will be one of our best drupa's."
